Rise Up

We all have times when we feel low.  We all have times when we feel like we aren’t good enough.  We all have times when we want to give up.  We all have times when we lose all motivation.  So, the question is, how do we get back up and back on track? How do we get back to where we need to be?  How do we get back to where we want to be?

Here is the first thing you should know: no one feels or thinks positively about themselves all the time.  So, it is perfectly okay to doubt yourself sometimes.  What is not okay, is to allow yourself to be feel overwhelmed by negativity.

Secondly, you should only allow yourself to feel low or down for a limited amount of time.  For instance, if someone annoys you, let yourself be angry for a few minutes.  Use that time to process your thoughts.  You can call someone to vent, cry angry tears (yes that is a thing), or even write your feelings down.  After that, you need to re-evaluate the situation and see if your anger level has decreased and if the issue is still worth your energy and frustration.  Of course, this will not always work, but it is a good method to use for minor issues and aggravating situations.

One thing that we all need to understand is that nothing is achieved overnight.  You may look at other people and believe that they have everything figured out and great things are handed to them.  However, the truth is no one has life figured out.  No one has everything together and sorted: it is simply that some individuals are better at putting on a front and hiding their struggles and internal battles from the world.  As for those you believe have opportunities handed to them: their lives are not perfect either.  It does not matter who you are and what you do, you will always face problems and obstacles in life.  It is how you choose to overcome them that counts.

Life does know us down sometimes and it can be extremely challenging to get back up, but we must.  We owe it to ourselves to continue fighting.

How many times have we needed or wanted a second chance at something or from someone?  Maybe we have wanted forgiveness, to retake a test, a second chance to prove ourselves at work.  Ultimately, how can we expect the universe to give us another chance, if we won’t give ourselves a chance first?

You cannot allow yourself to wallow in self pity or believe you are a victim to life.  Use your battles to give you new strength.  There is nothing you have faced on your journey that you have not been able to overcome.  You owe it to yourself to keep going and make your story the best it can possibly be.

You are the only person in this world who can stop you from getting to where you want to be.

Will you stand in your own way and block your blessings? Or will you rise up?
